Science Fiction
A novel in which futuristic or otherwise altered scientific principles form the basis for adventures. Often the novel posits a set of rules or principles or facts and then traces their logical consequences in some form. This is a genre of fiction dealing principally with the impact of actual or imagined science on society or individuals or having a scientific factor as an essential orienting component. It is a form of writing that is concerned with a reality removed in some fundamental way from our own, whether in time, perspective or knowledge.
