Perception of the Spiritual has been obscured by three centuries of modern science. However, in the second half of the nineteenth century there began a movement referred to as Spiritualism. Here was the good news proclaimed at the apex of materialism: the world is essentially spiritual. We live in a spiritual world. We are spiritual beings in a universe of spiritual beings. Materiality is the illusion.
The Physical Plane is the Black Land, the Land of Cush, Egypt, the Wilderness of Ignorance. Here is fought the great battle between Spirit and matter. It is a battle for each human soul.
Spiritual truths may be apprehended by Spirit alone.
